| Dad's Dining Room |
I'm not that bad . . . yet, but my den closet fits that description. So far, it has not spread to other parts of my house. Watch this video of my attempt to clean out my den closet and you will see what I mean:
The need for me to have a supply of boxes I think is in my genes. I definitely have inherited that from my dad; however, based on my own experience, it is good to save them so when I have to return an item, I still have the original box. The only difference between my dad and me regarding this is that he kept his boxes in his dining room; whereas, mine are in my closets. Yes, I do mean plural here--I have some in the basement closet too. (Link: http://youtu.be/YlG6j82rr74)

Ahhh! I have one of those closets too. Perhaps it is time for me to get organized!
We throw them in our old root cellar off the basement. :) and some other hidey holes too.
I think we all have one of "those" closets. My boys are even scared to open "that" door else the wrapping paper rolls smack them in the head or the blankets and board games cage them in! Now your Dad's dining room?.....well, there's a show on TLC about that! LOL! I think my Dad may have the same condition. You should see his garage!!
WE HAVE THE SAME DAD! My parents recently got a new refrigerator. Before the delivery men took away the old one, he TOOK THE CRISPER DRAWERS OUT AND PUT THEM IN THE BASEMENT. Because you never know....
Didn't have time to watch the video but I get the idea! I couldn't touch this prompt -- it would probably have to do with keeping stuff in order to be thrifty....to hubs's chagrin.

Mommy Lisa: Oh, we have some storage closets in the basement too! That's one of the selling points for this house--all the storage areas!
The Mommy Mambo: Oh, speaking of the garage, my dad actually bought his house because it had a 3-car garage. He used the first section for stuff, the second for wood and the third for his workshop. The first two sections I could hardly walk in, especially the wood one!
Dyanne: Oh yes. Sounds like something my dad would do too. I bet you would enjoy the book I wrote in memory of my dad called "My Funny Dad, Harry."
Paula: Guess lots of people have a hard time parting with stuff.
My dad keeps everything, my mom throws it out. They balance each other out. Where that leaves my genes, I don't know!

I have that same optimism that I will one day fix all the broken things I've kept. I would throw them out, but it never fails, as soon as I get rid of something, I find a use for it!
