Visiting Dad Is Fun! (Writer's Workshop)

Visiting dad was funny because he fell asleep so easily! Sometimes when visiting, we would bring along Leo, our stuffed lion, just for fun. By this time dad usually fell asleep if he sat down for any length of time. One time he fell asleep while shaving! He did it sitting in the living room. He’d fall asleep while he ate. Sometimes he fell asleep while petting Sylvester, his cat. He always fell asleep when reading the newspaper. Sometimes he even dozed off while we were visiting him. Gerard would put Leo on his lap and he didn’t even know it!

This was a Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop prompt: Write a story using exactly 101 words.

To find out more about my book and why I wrote it, read the Foreword here. This is one of the stories I included in the book.

Love it! My Dad falls asleep everywhere. It's so bad that I'd never leave my baby with him. Ever. LOL
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. :)

I read the forward. How awesome for you that you put your funny memories of your Dad in a book. My mother just passed in Oct. and I keep having memories come to mind and think I should really write that down.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving quotes to inspire me on my blog. I will give you a shout out if I use them. ~Lanie

Andrea & Mama Kat: That's the picture I chose to use for my book cover.

Kristibonney: My dad used to take Toprol which made him drowsy, but he always did like to sleep. Don't blame you for not ever leaving your baby with him.

Lanie: Wow, thanks for taking the time to read the forward. Sorry about your mom. I would suggest you do write your memories down if you have any inclination at all to do so--it was helpful to me to do it when my dad died.

I miss my Dad. How I wish I would see him in that condition. But God has other plans for him... He wanted to be with him early on in life.

I thought about taking some sort of workshop, but decided I can't write so I changed my mind. I left an answer to your question on my blog, but as far as I know it's still 15 to 20% depending on service.
